You can get a very good idea about how your product will work by first testing it out on other people and seeing their reaction. The group of people on whom you test your product is called a test group. It’s a group of people that you get together and then you provide your product or service to them free of charge. They give you feedback, in other words they tell you what they think of your product or service, and what they like or don’t like. It works best to give them a questionnaire that they can fill in anonymously (they don’t need to write their names down).
People will be more honest if they can write their impressions down, instead of telling you directly. You want to know what people really think of your product, right? It doesn’t help they say that the new ice cream that you’ve developed is delicious just because they’re scared that they’ll hurt your feelings. If when you try to sell it to other people later, no one wants to buy it! Then you’ll be stuck with buckets of ice cream that nobody wants to buy!
